Well, today I woke up earlier LOL! Got serious troubles with my time schedule, specially when I don't have anything to do at mornings, or better said: no obligations. I had a talk with a work mate yesterday, well she's a friend of mine, she filled me in with the current situation, I mean the job we both were doing till last December. She said that she spoke to our boss a few days ago and they said they should be knowing by the end of February whether the projects we were supposed to be working on will succeed or not. Anyway, I had planned starting sending cv's next week, and having a look to the job offers...
I'm working on a new website, and I'm planning dropping some, since I had that long period of computer crashes, all my stuff got too abandoned, and it's a shame. I don't want to delete my music groups at Yahoo! But I must think carefully about my intentions to keep on managing them. People never post there, but there's a lot of old info that I don't want to destroy. I never intended being #1 sites, but it's a pain when you had it that long time non updated.
I just don't wanna drop my Sugababes, Blaque & All Saints group. But I'm thinking seriously about leaving the Black Music group, or at least make a few changes.
News in here are related to my football club. The player Samuel Eto'o is causing a big commotion by critisizing the way things are going and reporting there's a division amongst the team players. Well I can't say I didn't saw that comming, but seriously, he's exagerating things, media are taking him too seriously, and the club's president has always been a jerk, so he deserves any crap that comes up to him, but he's destroying the club with all of this. I always knew one day he would auto-destroy himself. People like him are NO GOOD. They always fall alone.
Reminding of Accepted, the movie that has caused me that much of an impact LOL! I said 'Let's have a Battle Royal with the football team!' they recieve exagerated amounts of money to play football, and ok, they become stars because we, the supportes make them be like that, but they act worse than Drama Queens. In fact I think that nearly all football players in the planet, that play in professional leagues, they're all drama queens. And when you've got one that has the ability to think by himself, and even write very well, and have opinions about important matters, then people punish him by saying he's a terrorist. Well, that happened just one week ago. I think the fuss that Oleguer last report for a Catalan magazine he usually colaborates with was the cause of all Eto'o (or Ego'o, like my boyfriend says) madness. He hadn't played for a long time cos of his knee injury, and he hasn't played home yet since then. So last game was at home, but people were maybe too supportive with his team-mate, cos we do understand he's being treated very unfairly, and we would like all our team player to be as smart and mature as he is, so we show. They both go to the sideline to warm up, while the second period of the game is being played. And people start shouting Oleguer's name, but not Eto'o's. Is not that we don't want him, is just that the situation makes us wanna show the rest of the country we do think Oleguer has the right to get an opinion about serious matters. Well, kinda complicated to understand what's going on if you're not living in Catalonia or the rest of Spain, although there are people that actually live in here and will always be dumb when it comes to this. I wouldn't doubt having a Battle Royal with certain people... not only my team players.
Well, you see I'm not the only selfish person in the planet. Ego'o is even more selfish than I'll ever be. XD
I've been watching Iza, Now The Tour this morning. I love that Tour. I would love to attend one of Arashi's shows one day. They do look spectacular. Same as Amuro Namie's Space of Hip-Pop. If we could have acts like them performing in here, I know for sure they would have a big audience. Since it's not usual to see Asian singers in my country not near it. I know people from other European countries would travel just to see them perform. Now I regret I missed Yumi Matsuzawa last year, but I was attending to Kanye West's show at the same time, so I don't regret it that much cos that was a nice show. Kanye's someone I really admire. He's sometimes too arrogant, but he's smart, he raps about serious matters, and he knows how to make fun about the non-serious ones. Plus I admire him as a producer, not everybody can sampler the way he does. Some of my favourite Jay-Z's tracks are produced by him.
Well I leave you by now with a song from Natalie Williams' last album: Secret Garden. The song is a cover from Stevie Wonder's 'To Know You Is To Love You' .I love this album, specially this song.
I'm listening to 1xtra for the first time in a very long time... and one of my fav 702 tracks came on. Is a garage remix of it, but sounds still nice, 'You Don't Know'...
Well, I'm just gonna say this once so...
if you hate spoilers, then just don't read this blog, cos I'm gonna diseccionate a movie...
I love watching what I call 'toxic movies' which is anything 'teen-movie' flavored, in any way. Recently I've had a few good ones -yeah I'm a Lindsay Lohan fan, love Moly Ringwald, and anything American Pie alike, but I really love is 1990's bizarre teen or college movies-. I think that since PCU I hadn't watch something as bizarre and clever as this:
This movie is really funny, in a cruel way, but it trully face cruel reallity with the USA's college educational system. Whatever Kanye West's was saying on his debut album, 'College Droupout', can be applied into this movie.
So we've got the situation:
Kid is graduating, he's gotta go to college, cos that seems a political corret way (LMAO, PCU) of American Life. Well, what happens when you don't get accepted to any college?
I know that seems impossible, there's always a place you can go to, but what if any University accepts you?
That's what happens to B, the main role of this movie, his kinda the smart-bad guy of high school, half NERD, half Cool, but his CV doesn't get him into ANY college, and that, OMG, disapoints his parents.
When parents should be supporting their kids no matter what, they trully let him down by showing how decieved they are for him not making into college despite his hard efforts to apply. He should had 'start in Junior High, just like your sister' they say to the poor boy.
So he decides to fake a college mail application accepted to make his parents happy. Cheated, but happy. And, well, here comes the unreal part of the movie, but what makes it funnier than any other teen-college movie since PCU, he gets to actually trick his parents by building a fake college website, and finding a fake college building...
He gets a crew, a nice team, made by his high school friends that got rejected from college:
-Rory (ironically named with the same name as Gilmore's kiddo), doesn't get into Yale, despite she's been getting ready since Junior High to apply to that University, and despite her marks.
-Hands looses his scholarship for sports by getting a serious injury in his leg.
-Glen is simply retarded but gifted in a funny way with food cooking...
-Schrader He's got into a good college, and he thinks he's gonna experience what he's been wanting to experience all his life, but B need his skills to trick his parents, and to create this fake college.
Let's keep on...
They do create a real college, but it's a college that legally doesn't exists, so they don't think that by creating this whole fantasy, someoen will actually fall in and think this is real...
well, that happens, loads of kids that have been rejected from other colleges, come to that college. You wonder, how?
Cos they made the site with a 'Acceptance is one click away' tool, and they actually accept more than 300 kids into that fake but real college. Ain't it funny?
when they find out all this kids' parents have paid for a one semester's tuition, here comes the non-dillemma...
Hands: 'Ok, Ok, Ok, We've gotta do something...'
Rory: 'Hey! Don't look at me ask one of the founding fathers...'
Hands: 'B?'
[looking at Schrader]
Schrader: 'This isn't my deal, Man! I told u this was a bad idea from the get go'
B:'True'
Glen: 'We can have a Battle Royal!'
LMAO! I can picture Kitano-san committing suicide by trying to explain to those kids the rules of game...
This movie has certaintly some good way-outs LOL! This is my favourite. But don't stop here, let's continue...
It happens that the fake college name is nothing but: South Harmon Institute of Technology. Yes, you read the right way... SHIT are the initials of this college: 'You wanna be a SHIT-head?' a nice but funny joke, that makes this movie even more hilarious.
Well I'm not gonna spoil it any longer, because I think from that point, is up-to-you guys to find out whether this fake college succeeds or not. But I guarantee that if you liked American Pie, Road Trip or you're a fan of what I call Toxic movies (well this is less romantic, more bizarre) such as PCU, then you'll enjoy whatching it. And even being this unreal, I love the finale.
