Hey! I'm at my summer town, I've been working as a waitress again, still broke tho :( and I've been doing some preparation works for upcoming events... I'm still half discussing some of the dates, the boss seems to forget everything I tell him about dates, events and workshops... anyway, it's gonna be easier than the lessons we'll be doing about Japan and its history...
FACT # 1
Hanadan Shojo is the new name I gave to Hana Yori Dango Day aka Hanadan Day because the original idea of this event has been changing a lot since I first created it. I won't get tired of saying is not another NANA DAY:
A. No one has proposed to celebrate a day dedicated to a manga Internationaly.
B. The original idea was a marathon watching the first season of the Live Action, so it was "Days" instead of "Day", we made the "s" fall because when we took the idea back we only had a day to make it.
C. We never intended to make our "NANA" event such a big deal, but since someone proposed it to make it on 07/07/07 we switched dates, cancelled a couple of events dedicated to two manga/anime/live action and worked a little more into that idea to match the International celebration. The way we worked back into Hanadan Shojo has been different since what we wanted is to use this manga to show how shojo has been through the last two decades and how some works had been adaptated into anime and into tv drama series, plus having an excuse to celebrate some of us are arashian. XD
FACT # 2
We didn't chose the date exactly, we said it had to be in the end of November, because at the beginning there's a Manga Feir and before is impossible to get ready such an event, because there are other things to get ready, and later we have another event this year... so we said 17th or 24th November and the center we're doing this event gave us the 17th. Is not a date with a hidden meaning or something.
FACT # 3
Hanadan Shojo stands for an event that will be about shojo manga, doramas, Taiwanese and Korean dramas based in shoujo manga, and the idols from the JE plus JVKV (the original Taiwanese F4). The principal subject of this event are the conferences, talks and episodes from some anime series and dramas (TW, K, and of course JPN) that are linked into the shoujo works we picked up appart of Hanadan, which is the main series we picked up because of the importancy of the manga and both the Taiwanese and the Japanese drama. Arashi and the JE come because of Hanadan and because some of the JE idols and the JVKV members have started in roles in those drama series we've talked about.
FACT # 4
This won't be an event that will be celebrated in different cities, areas, locations, whatever. It will have only a location, at least this year, and depending on its acceptation we could repeat it again, next year (maybe) in another city, maybe changing the name or adding new shojos...
FACT # 5
We will have some activities, games and little workshops, but all of them will be related to shojo manga, and girlie stuff, except for the videogames which will be some oldies, such as Tetris, Return to Aracade or Puyo Pop, because we know some males will come too. But this event is to learn a little bit more about the subjects we already discussed above.
FACT # 6
Different people will be involved in Hanadan Shojo: There's a blog dedicated to everything about shojo news (Los Shojos de Deirdre), the best Spanish site about Hanadan (www.hyd-es.com) , different associations and clubs, even some forums such as Arashi Rabu Rabu where we've been requesting some material or fansubs such as Dorama no Fansub (they made the subs for HYD and HYD 2), we even requested to F4-Pawa and still we've got more people to ask for help or if they want to join us with something... There's plenty of things you can do, even from the distance, like sharing videos, series, or ideas. There's an online competition: Best Hanadan Fanfic, and a Cosplay Competition by pictures... and we decided to do that because some people have already complained about the fact this event will be too far from their locations.
FACT # 7
After this event, we still have work to do, events to go and work as volunteers, and events that will be like this but dedicated to other themes and subjects, and it'll be plenty of time to make events like people are used to go, with the same activities and workshops and competitions as always, that's why we're not worried about not having stuff people is used to, we're also trying to get these events to a new client target, people that can read manga, but maybe won't go to the typical events. We already had some of them at NANA DAY, and they told us they liked the familiar atmosphere and that they didn't felt that out-of-place.
FACT # 8
Is true that I've already suggested to the ones that felt decieved with NANA DAY and have been harsh with us not to come. I'm sorry, but people who only think we shoul make perfect events like we were a company or something, are not welcome into our events. They only come to criticize and they're negative. Some have already doubted about Hanadan Shojo, and still they say they'll probably come. There's no need to.
FACT # 9
We'll keep doing events despite of the haters because we love them, but get sure I won't waste the same amount of money as I did in NANA DAY, because those haters have shown me there's no worth in doing it. It's better keeping it poor, than wasting money in material that won't be apreciate. Same goes for the prizes, we'll be giving little prizes, and we'll be having just a few competitions. However we'll be talking about Hanadan Shojo to the publishers that publish shojo in Spain, because we think they must know about this, and because maybe some of them want to join us in our conferences and talks.
FACT # 10
YES it's true this event has changed from its original idea, but still it was previous to NANA DAY, same as it is the one we'll be doing next summer. We've got plenty of previous ideas, but anyway, people still will compare them to NANA DAY... let me just tell you that if ever someone requests to celebrate something internationally, I'll only join if I have something in mind, like I did with NANA DAY ;D
So I'm really glad at last of how NANA DAY went. Despite of the haters we've had, people saying they were disapointed, I can make a review of all: the last 3 months, the day, how the staff worked it out and the efforts we all put in it, and I'm satisfied. Of course there are loads of things that could had been better, but I know I did my best, and the people who should have done the same, now has realized that next time they must be more into this. Also, a new link has been created among the ones who colaborated into the different locations events, and we know it will grow up stronger.
Next event I'm going to work is from a club who I made friends with while organizing NANA DAY: Neko Otaku Club (www.nekotaku.net) and I'm going to be another staff member, this time no pressure of being one of the chiefs. It's going to be a little event, but fun.
And right now, I'm working hard XD as hell, cos there's a whole plan to make for next season: All the workshops, activities and little events we will make into different social centres. Plus my so long awaited event dedicated to the 1990's romantic shoujo with the main theme of HANA YORI DANGO, this will have references to the Japanese dramas and to the Taiwanese drama series that are based into Japanese manga. We're also dedicating part of the event to Arashi, the JE's and the Taiwanese idol boy band: F4. It's gonna be smaller than NANA DAY, and we will have to create more online contests, and stuff like that, cos loads of people who I know would want to attend, won't do because they live far from Barcelona. We will have more conferences, less workshops, and more stuff to view, but yet, I'm sure it'll be a funny event to attend and something to learn about shoujo.
I asked to www.hyd-es.com forum and site members if they wanted to colaborate, they said they would ^^, also I'm trying to get Arashi Rabu Rabu to participate giving ideas and sending me video files of Arashi, since half of the members live really far to come. I'm gonna ask the International comunities about HYD and Arashi later, in order they can give ideas and be represented in the info we will give that day.
Also, Misión Tokyo and Imperio Saiyan (which I'm representing for Barcelona now) say they want to promote again this event. And I'm introducing my friend's blog dedicated to shoujo: Los Shoujos de Deirdre, I want her to manage the part dedicated to the conferences dedicated to this subject.
I'm gonna get sponsors again (I hope and wish), this time for prizes of the different contests, and I hope the staff who worked on NANA DAY wants to repeat ;D by now it's sure that Neko Otaku Club and Sakusen Carnival will take this event as one of theirs, because we're all going to the same center. This will be first Japan House's official event. ^^
17 November: HANA YORI DANGO DAY. But don't mistake it, the "Day" doesn't stands for the same as NANA DAY did. Is just that when I created this idea I wanted it to be a marathon of 3 days watching the dorama and making a few activities, but it's obvious we won't have three days for that so we got it short: Day. ;D
XD I created an street team a month ago to promote NANA DAY in Spain, the prize is gonna be really good ;P it's a little secret... and last mission is to go to the streets to hang up posters about this event, and take pics making otaku poses and funny things. Me, as a team leader, I can help my members to gain points (equally), so I did:
So the guys that accompany me are Meritxell who's member of my staff, and two of the Girona's staff members (sorry guys, I don't remember your names). They had the camera and they sent me this pic. We took it in a popular comic store at Barcelona, with two little dolls-chain of Takumi and Yasu, and showing the poster we later hung up on that shop.
Remember to watch our youtube video, is now more than 3000 views!!!!

I'm extremly exhausted! But it's all for good :) This week is all about the final details to get everything ready for next Saturday: Decorations, materials, last promo... and getting the sound equipement we need. I went yesterday to buy the clothes to make my cosplay. My mates will make it for me, since I'm not going to compete it's no problem that I don't make that myself.
I want to thank all the people that helped us to get NANA DAY in Spain be true. Also the haters: You made us fight even harder, and we grew up stronger than before. Just 7 days to go... NANA!
XD ok, what am I doing posting at this time? Pretty late, yeah. 3:12 am... :S Well, it's being a busy week. We're 2 weeks to go to NANA DAY, and some stuff is getting complicated. I'm running out of money but I swear I won't let those people get us. We've got location, I'm fighting for having extra-space in a nice park, we're gonna have promotion, even if it's not shiny, but we will let people know about it and the things they will be able to do on the different events.
I'm trying to stress this week in order I can set everything and by next week I don't have to panic. I know I will panic anyway LOL, but at least I'll have everything done. Or almost everything.
I make this post to wish luck to all the NANA DAY'S in te World, and to thank all the people that's working hard to make it happen. Ganbare!
Seriously, I need a plan to make money during August... I guess I shall go back to be a waitress for a month :( I hate serving certain kind of people, but there's no other chance I guess.
And I swear (Yeah not afraid to swear), that the ones that are trying to ruin us everything someday will find their own karma stomping right over their noises. Ooop's! XD
So Since the day 1 I had in mind the tv commercial I wanted to fake to promote NANA DAY at youtube. It had to be two cosplays of Reira and NANA Oosaki while getting dressed, and then when they were facing each other in a black stage, Hachiko was there trembling, you could only see her back. So NANA went there to consol her, and put her hand on Hachiko's shoulder, and when Hachiko turned to the camera... IT WAS A MAN!!!! XD
Sadly the day we filmed it, the guest star "Hachiko" couldn't come, so we ended up making the director appear in the video as Hachi. Instead of a funny video is more like a videoclip.
Don't mind reading the credits that scroll at the end, these are meant to be unreadeble so people only focus on the website adress.
In the High Quality version you can actually read the site link on my cellphone (yes that cuttie is mine!). We'll upload it when we have it available.
Enjoy!
Fall asleep today. I think I'm too tired that's why I keep on feeling dizzy and sleepy XD today...
It seems one of the venues we wanted to get our NANA DAY in, has replied to us saying they're interested, but now we already decided not to go there, cos we couldn't afford waiting till the date they told us they would confirm or deny we could use the place. XD Well, I wrote them saying sorry for not speaking to you yesterday about that (we already though they knew we wouldn't go cos I comunicated it to one of their bosses, it seems he forgot to tell them... ¬¬), and thanx for all the attention, however we would like to make another event then some time soon, and we've invite them to come on that day, whether they have any young associations that would like to come and participate.
I'm gonna get back to work. I can't wait till morning break, I need my coffee with milk :S
Following up the completly crazy week I had (last week), full of ideas, and creating loads of new things for NANA DAY and future projects... this week is going to be very tiring, because we have already started contacting possible sponsors for that event, because I'm creating something and I must go and register (finally) into SGAE (similar to ASCAP or BMI), and I shall get sure I can get the stuff I want, to announce a new activity for NANA DAY but that will take place before the event (a mont before).
I'm trying to manage the creation of a press folder (for media, magazines and tv's) with cultural content related to NANA, in order we can give a good promo to the event. I need the people who previosuly suggested it to work into it as fast as the can (during this week), and I'm gonna make a proposal (not marriage XD) to a channel for a program dedicated to Punk music and its influence in the youth nowadays, and insert what happens with NANA here XD
Aw! This is really crazy, Ne?
I still gotta more pages to translate for those wines site, and I still haven't finished the English version of our NANA DAY project (by the way I inform you that it's copyrighted now, so any ideas exposed in here, you cannot copy them XD haha, I have permission cos I'm the one creating it LOL), and I want to make a few more little proposals and docs related to this event, for International comunities. Gotta propose something to NANA-NANA.net and also want to propose something related to this secret thing that concerns me getting officaly a writter (lyricist) status to our principal sponsor.
I'm done for now. I've seen someone has created a song dedicated to Arashi fans. Can't wait to listen to it, but I must do it, cos I'm at my job, and I can't play it on here XD
Is 'all about NANA DAY', I think I'm obsessed with it XD
Well, we already became like a cult, but as I told before in my past logs... this must be huge, so we can keep on organizing stuff like this or even bigger. I've got my fingers crossed.
About that thing... LOL, well, it's going better than I expected, I hardly think about him now, and I don't even care about what he might be doing or thinking (yeah being selfish, I know), I try to think a little about it tho, in order to not just hide it and let it break me from the inside. I mean that it's not normal to just forget about it, so I try to get notice of all the situation and my recover, to not find out later that I've been ignoring my true feelings and that I'm still in love, hurt... whatever. A song just came to my mind XD that one Sheryl Crow's sings in C'mon C'mon album 'I wanna get over you, they way you got over me...' well, I think I'm getting over, and I don't care if he's got over me or not anymore.
Well, I'll be spacing out too much today, so I better finish my post in here, with a little video from youtube:
